The Dallas Mavericks have been the subject of some headlines lately following news that was reported about one of their former officers allegedly harassing a female employee in the workplace. The team has issued a statement recently letting the public know that they are on top of things and are already investigating the matter.

The official statement was shared on Twitter, via Bulls beat writer Sean Highkin, saying that they only found out about the inappropriate action recently and that they are not going to tolerate such acts if proven true, as it violates their standards of conduct. The former official remains unnamed, but the Mavs have confirmed that he is no longer part of the organization and left them three years ago. This has raised a concern to their practices and policies which they are now all reviewing to make sure such acts will be prevented and won’t happen again in their workplace.

The Mavericks have not had many controversies in the past, which makes this news a surprising one. They have remained a top notch organization, and nothing less of swift actions, especially with their private investigation, is expected from them to assure all their employees that they will not tolerate these kinds of malicious incidents.

Their team has not been able to win a lot of games so far this season and the last thing they need at this point is another distraction and negative publicity which could affect their chances of landing some big name free agents this coming summer.  More information should emerge soon and the organization is expected to release another statement once their investigation is completed.
