Walker, who has spent his entire career with the Hornets, becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Threats to sign Kemba Walker away from the Charlotte Hornets this summer? Place this team at the top of your list:

The Dallas Mavericks.

Two sources with knowledge of the Mavericks’ thinking expect Walker, the Hornets’ three-time All-Star point guard, to be that team’s top target when NBA free-agency begins July 1.

The Mavs will likely sell Walker on a lethal Big Three of him, Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

Doncic will probably win the Rookie of the Year award this season, while Porzingis is expected to be 100 percent next season. KP is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last year with the New York Knicks.

A Big Three of Walker, Doncic and Porzingis would strike a lot of fear into the Mavs' opponents.

Hornets owner Michael Jordan will reportedly do whatever it takes to keep Kemba Walker in Charlotte. But Walker has been open about how he wants to play for a contender and the Hornets don't fit that bill yet.
