Tragedy struck at the New York Mets' home arena at Citi Field. A 46-year-old man was found dead after falling from the staircase during a concert.

First responders were dispatched to Citi Field at around 9:05 PM to treat a man who had suffered injuries consistent from a fall from an elevated area. The man remained unresponsive and was immediately rushed to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, but was eventually pronounced dead.

The unfortunate incident occurred as the Mets were on a road trip to face the Los Angeles Dodgers. The man was said to be attending a Dead & Company concert and allegedly tried to perform a stunt which went awry.

“He attempted a body flip, fell, and landed on the balcony below,” a source told Kerry Burke of New York Daily News.

New York Mets spokesperson Harold Kauffman spoke out to express the team's sorrow amid the tragedy.

“We are aware of a tragic incident which sadly resulted in a fatality last night,” said the Mets' spokesperson. “Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to the attendee's loved ones.”
The man's identity has not been disclosed as authorities work to get in contact with his family.
