Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi didn't mince his words talking about 2020 NFL Draft prospect Tua Tagovailoa going as far as calling the Alabama quarterback “brittle.” Lombardi is still well connected in the NFL and on his GM Shuffle podcast, he said at least one team failed Tagovailoa on his physical, which would be new information.

“At least one team failed the physical on Tua, others have to be concerned now as well,” Lombardi said on his GM Shuffle podcast, via mlive.com. “What they saw…is they saw the fact it’s not just his hip. It’s his ankle. It’s his wrist. He broke his wrist the first day of spring ball one year. And then they fixed it, he came back, and he broke it again.”

The wrist injury is a new concern that hasn't been talked about, and that adds to a long list of injury concerns that follow the NFL draft prospect. Tagovailoa has been cleared to play football, but Lombardi has serious questions on how long he will be able to last.

“He’s brittle,” said Lombardi, who has held front office jobs for the 49ers, Eagles, Raiders, Browns and Patriots. “You can’t deny it. You can’t deny it.”

Not being able to meet with teams has hurt a lot of draft prospects, but Tagovailoa might be the player who is going to be affected the most by it.

Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to be the first overall pick, but the next quarterback to be taken and by who is a big question mark. There have been some grumblings about Tagovailoa going second overall to the Washington Redskins, but he also could see a big draft-day slide.
