True solo leadership in the Big Ten East division will be contested in East Lansing, with bitter rivals no. 6 Michigan Wolverines and no. 8 Michigan State Spartans going at it this Saturday. The enmity alone for each other is enough to hype up this rivalry game, but Tennessee Titans offensive lineman and Michigan product Taylor Lewan was not going to be stopped from adding more fuel to the fire.

Have a listen to Lewan’s monologue, via Nick Mantas of WLNS:

“Michigan is the No. 2 defense in the country — I’m not here to talk about Georgia being No. 1. Michigan, the boys in blue, are the No. 2 defense in the country. Our offense, yeah they say we’re run heavy, but our pass game is coming along. Overall, Michigan State is going to get donkeyed at home in East Lansing.”

Lewan played for the Wolverines from 2009 to 2013 before he was taken by the Titans in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. That’s almost a decade ago, but Lewan obviously still has strong feelings about anything Michigan-Michigan State.

And he’s got the scouting right, too. The Wolverines are also second in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 14.3 points per game and seventh with a 65.79 rush play percentage.
