The MLS may be on the verge of gaining another world-renowned talent. Juventus and Italy superstar defender Giorgio Chiellini has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of this season following 17 years of service. Via Fabrizio Romano, it's expected that the MLS will be the next destination in his footballing career, and apparently, there are a couple of clubs already working to bring him on board.

Among the clubs interested in landing the Italian defender is LAFC, reports Romano. Chiellini's contract is due to expire in June, and it was rumored that he'd be moving on from Juventus after nearly two decades serving in their back-line. It will be an emotional departure for Chiellini, but it's the right time for him to take on the next chapter in his career.

At 37 years old, Chiellini is no longer the elite talent he once was, but he's still an excellent central back and should be a valuable addition in the MLS. He will be an intriguing add for whatever team is able to sign him as a free agent, and there could be more MLS teams entering the fray for his signature in the coming weeks.

Chiellini joined Juventus in 2005 from Fiorentina. He started his football career at Serie B side Livorno back in 2002 as a 17-year-old. He played 18 seasons in Italy's top flight, including 17 at Juventus, where he featured in a total of 423 Serie A matches. He scored 26 goals and assisted 18 throughout his career, winning a total of 10 domestic cups, including a sensational stretch of nine in a row from 2011-2020.
