Saigon Buffalo found a solid lead from a huge bot dive that went their way. From this play, they get three G2 members and lost two. BeanJ on the Gwen jungle also got fed, and showed its strength in another big team fight that happened around the Drake. This fight was a decisive victory for the Vietnamese squad.

And so was the next fight. Fortunately for G2, Jankos managed to steal away what would've been SGB's soul, but it wasn't enough. SGB play things by the book and managed to take down G2 Esports in a huge upset.

Result: SGB win in 26:00 (G2 7 – 18 SGB)

  • PSG: Lucian, Wukong, LeBlanc, Jinx, Tristana

Picks

  • EG: Gangplank, Nocturne, Ahri, Samira, Nautilus
  • PSG: Ornn, Leona, Vex, Kai’Sa, Leona

Coming out of Champion Select, both teams have ended up with a dive comp. PSG also had the luxury to counterpick mid, and it paid dividends.

When a fight broke out in mid lane, the Vex counterpick against caPs' Ahri showed its strength and was rewarded first blood. Off the fight, PSG also managed to start hitting the Rift Herald. This attempt was thwarted by EG but they lost two in the process. PSG then turned their attention towards stacking Drakes instead.

Evil Geniuses then found two back-to-back team fights and wiped PSG both times. The global pressure that Nocturne's Paranoisa and Gangplank's Cannon Barrage exerted gave PSG trouble during fights. EG then bait PSG into a fight which they once again win, and allow them to take Baron. By 28 minutes, EG held a 14k gold lead and PSG's damage to them were nonexistent.

With this victory, Evil Geniuses lock their spot into the Rumble Stage.

Result: EG win in 29:09 (EG 22 – 5 PSG)

Picks

  • SGB: Camille, Viego, Galio, Kai’Sa, Taric
  • T1: Gwen, Poppy, Twisted Fate, Xayah, Renata Glasc

T1 were quick to identify SGB's weakspot: top lane. The abuse that T1 laid down onto Hasmed were slightly offset by BeanJ attempting to 1v9 the game.

14 minutes in, the kills were even, to the surprise of many. Despite this, the gold was very much in T1's favor with their solid 4k gold lead. T1 began razing SGB's structures inside their base without the Baron buff, because it hasn't even spawned yet. When it finally did, T1 claimed it and ended SGB swiftly.

Result: T1 win in 23:25 (SGB 9 – 24 T1)

  • RNG: Wukong, Ahri, Graves,, Tristana, Senna

Picks

  • PSG: Gangplank, Viego, Vex, Aphelios, Renata Glasc
  • RNG: Gwen, Lee Sin, Galio, Xayah, Karma

RNG had an early play up their sleeves when they invaded Juhan's jungle on his first camp. Their presence there were never gone, and even started a huge fight that spilled the blood of two PCS members. Wei's Lee Sin, as well as Galio's global presence quickly became a pain in PSG's behind to deal with.

The Chinese squad fought literally non-stop, and won most of the fights. Those that they didn't win, PSG only went even. It was a textbook victory for RNG: get Baron buff, get Mountain Soul, win fights, win game.

With this W, RNG lock first place in the Rumble Stage and will have the luxury of picking their opponent in the Semifinals. PSG on the other hand, are eliminated from MSI 2022.

Result: RNG win in 26:28 (PSG 3 – 22 RNG)

  • EG: Kennen, Viego, Tryndamere, Ezreal, Galio
  • G2: Jax, Nocturne, Gwen, Kai’Sa, Pyke

G2's shenanigans began in Champ Select. BrokenBlade locked in Jax, and caPs locked in Gwen. Much to the viewers' surprise, G2 swapped their solo laners, such that caPs' Gwen went against Impact's Kennen and BrokenBlade's Jax went against Tryndamere.

The priority both G2 solo laners have gotten meant that Jankos had the space to claim the Eye of the Herald. This, however, came at a high price since G2 lost three members afterwards to Inspired's Viego.

Both teams then agreed to play the slow game, until G2 went ham on bot side but only slay one opponent. They did manage to push the tier-2 tower in bot, but this was traded by Impact on the top side. Jankos then proceeded to use Paranoia off cooldown to pressure EG and force them to play defensively. By 30 minutes, G2 has grown their lead to 6k gold.

EG, wanting to halt this growth, began hitting Baron. This results in a crazy fight in which G2 emerge victorious. After Flakked claims a quadra kill, G2 Esports march towards EG's Nexus to end this game.

Result: G2 win in 35:11 (EG 10 – 14 G2)

  • RNG: Lucian, Wukong, Graves, Vi, Nocturne

Picks

  • T1: Gwen, Lee Sin, Ahri, Xayah, Nautilus
  • RNG: Gangplank, Viego, Twisted Fate, Aphelios, Alistar

RNG's plan was clear from the beginning: take up space using the global abilities they have in their arsenal. Much to their dismay, T1's side lanes did extremely well, and even managed to find First Blood on Bin. This kill was promptly replied to by RNG's kill onto Zeus.

This was a slow early game, and quite objective focused. 16 minutes in, RNG was ahead in almost everything, but had a negligible gold lead. The only thing T1 had going for them were their 2 tower kills to RNG's 0. Bin once again falls which evens out the gold on both teams.

T1 in general showed great mechanics, and a great kick from Oner's Lee Sin resulted in them getting two towers in mid. Around the third Drake, a huge fight broke out. T1 claim the upper hand in this fight, losing one and taking three from RNG. This fight put them 3k gold ahead by 20 minutes, and also rewarded them with their first Drake.

Exceptional mechanics combined with great macro calls meant that T1 were slowly encroaching RNG's space, to the point where they were simply taking towers in front of RNG. Bin gets solo killed in the side lane by Zeus, which prompted T1 to hit Baron Nashor. This was a pure coin flip, and it came up T1. Every remaining RNG member near the Baron pit perish to the South Korean squad, leaving their base defenseless.

Result: T1 win in 32:29 (T1 12 – 10 RNG)
