There is a lot of brilliant players across the NBA, but former NBA champion Rasheed Wallace believes there is one above the rest. Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook.

That's right, Wallace voiced that based on Westbrook's current form, he is playing better than both LeBron James and the scoring champ, Steph Curry.

“This man is right now. I gotta say, Russ is the best player in the NBA right now. There is no disrespect to KD, or Kyrie, or LeBron, but right now, no disrespect to Steph either. I know you scoring champion, but man what this kid is doing right now,” he said, via ESPN's the Jump.

“Ain’t no disrespect to guys, Russell Westbrook right now is killing it man, if I am the pacer in the meetings, it will be how to stop Russ.”

Well, this is sure going to cause an absolute fit among basketball fans. Russ has been doing some inhuman things in 2020/21 though, breaking Oscar Robertson's triple-double record a couple of weeks ago. The Wizards star can truly do it all on the court, but he struggled to get it going in Washington's play-in game on Tuesday night.

Now, the Wizards face the Pacers with a berth to the playoffs on the line as the No. 8 seed. It's hard to pinpoint one player who is the best in the Association, but Russell Westbrook would certainly be in the conversation. Obviously, Rasheed Wallace is a big fan of the former UCLA standout.

Top talent in the league or not, Westbrook has been fantastic all season. But, missing out on the playoffs would not bode well for his legacy or Wallace's opinion.
