Back in December, the Los Angeles Lakers decided against giving Isaiah Thomas a second 10-day deal after a brief, four-game stint with the team. The 5-foot-9 combo guard is determined to get himself back in the NBA and his recent offensive explosion for the Grand Rapids Gold of the G League is a clear testament to his cause.

Thomas just came out with an epic 45-point performance in the G League in just his second game for the Gold, and this should put the entire NBA on notice (h/t BallisLife.com on Twitter):

IT just tied the season scoring record in the G League with his offensive eruption. This follows his 42-point debut performance for the Gold, the G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, back in December. Needless to say, Isaiah Thomas still has a lot of gas left in the tank.

The Lakers could sure use some firepower off the bench and this recent performance from Isaiah Thomas could pique their interest. The same can be said for every other team in the league, though, who might be in need of a pure scorer on their roster. There's no denying that the G League is at an entirely different level as compared to the NBA, but averaging 43.5 points in your first two games definitely requires some attention.
