Philadelphia 76ers guard Jimmy Butler and Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin had to be separated in Friday night's game after a heated exchange. The Sixers guard drew a charge on Griffin after the latter drove the lane, and that resulted in the two jawing back and forth as they went to the other end of the court.

The newly-acquired Sixers star was seemingly letting Griffin know about the play, which led to teammates getting involved in keeping the two away from each other.

However, there was another exchange between the two players right after that, with Blake Griffin using his elbow to graze Jimmy Butler across the face.

This sequence seemed pretty harmless on both sides. But based on the scoreboard, it was Butler's team that came out with all the momentum.

The Sixers scored a 117-111 win after the game, which allowed them to move to 18-9 overall after having their four-game winning streak stopped by the Toronto Raptors earlier in the week.

Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 38 points on 13-of-27 shooting from the floor while Blake Griffin came close to matching him with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

The Sixers connected on 20-of-21 free-throw attempts in the game to seal the win, and Butler and company will return home with plenty of confidence given their impressive play as of late.

As for who awaits the Sixers in their next game on Monday? None other than Blake Griffin and the Pistons.

The battle between these two may be worth watching to see if there's any fallout from this heated exchange.
