Former NBA star Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr recently broke off their engagement after Parr revealed Odom is still battling with personal demons.

Odom reacted to the news breaking on Thursday, sharing an emoji of a broken heart on his personal Facebook page. Fortunately, many of the comments were geared toward emphasizing support for Odom as he deals with another apparent personal crises.

The former Los Angeles Lakers forward has been through the ringer this year. Odom spoke openly about his sadness following the death of mentor and friend Kobe Bryant in January, though he said Parr was a crucial system of support during this time.

But Parr said in her Instagram post announcing the split she felt it was the right decision for both herself and her children.

In her posting Parr wrote “Lamar has some things that he alone has to work through.”

“I love him dearly but I am no longer able to be by his side while he seeks the help he so desperately needs,” her posting said. “I wish him all the best and I am asking that you pray for everyone involved.”

Parr and Odom were engaged last November after dating for just three months. However, both appear headed for a new chapter as Odom looks to regain stability.

Lamar Odom has dealt with substance abuse in the past few years, though it is unknown whether he suffered a relapse.

In any case, it appears the 40-year-old is in dire need of support.
