Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is coming to the defense of former Los Angeles Lakers great Magic Johnson, who stepped down as president of basketball operations of the Lakers at the end of the 2018-19 regular season.

After resigning from his post, numerous reports started to come out stating Johnson was lazy and wasn't doing his job right. Johnson has a net worth around $650 million, so Wade says there's no way Magic can be lazy.

Johnson went on ESPN's First Take on Monday and revealed why he left the Lakers. The Hall of Famer said Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka was backstabbing him by talking behind his back. That made Magic uncomfortable.

Johnson also said he wasn't having fun anymore and decided to leave for his own well-being. The Lakers have been a walking disaster for years. At least Magic was able to get LeBron James to sign with the franchise last summer. It's the best move the Lakers have made in years.

Johnson has a good rapport with Wade and a bunch of NBA stars. Pelinka, on the other hand, basically only has a positive relationship with Kobe Bryant. Whatever is going wrong with the Lakers, all signs point toward Pelinka being the main issue behind the scenes.
