Episodes 3 and 4 of ESPN's “The Last Dance” dropped on Sunday (April 26) evening, and it was awesome that the episodes gave Chicago Bulls forward and NBA legend Dennis Rodman some much-deserved airtime.

At the same time, however, the docu-series director Jason Hehir opened up with ESPN's Jalen & Jacoby Aftershow about how difficult it was to get a face-to-face with the enigmatic NBA big man and how it actually went down.

“Interviewing Dennis Rodman is like interviewing a feral cat,” Hehir said. “He's not looking in the same place, he's got those big shades on. Every other statement was coming back to Kim-Jong Un and how he's going to be in the history books. I'm like, ‘No. We're talking about the Pistons. No Korea! No! Stay with me.'”

Apparently, The Worm proved to be quite a difficult guy to get to, and it took the director a couple of months before they finally got the five-time NBA champ to agree to a sit-down. What transpired next was Rodman-level epicness.

“He shows up two hours late,” Hehir recalled. “He gets out of the car, walks over, I felt like a ghost, he walked straight past me… He said, ‘what's this for again?'”

“The Last Dance” director had to remind Rodman about the premise of the documentary, which prompted a hilarious reaction from the NBA bad boy.

“He's like, '10 hours, huh? I'll give you 10 minutes,” Hehir narrated. “So he sits down, I'm just shooting with him, and he says, ‘I need a tuna sub from Subway and some chamomile tea.'”

The crew obliged, and thankfully, Rodman was able to give them three hours worth of his time. In the end, it was all worth it.
