Nikola Jokic getting ejected from a game is as rare as undercooked steak, that's why it came as a surprise to many that the Denver Nuggets star was tossed out of their match against the Miami Heat on Monday night.

Jokic and Heat forward Markieff Morris got entangled late in the fourth quarter as they exchanged dirty fouls. While Morris has been involved in altercations in the past, it was uncharacteristic for the usually mild-mannered Jokic to lose his cool.

Of course, the mean streets of Twitter had things to say about the shoving match.

Somehow, someway, Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce also came to mind after Morris was shoved by Jokic.

Some warned Jokic to be careful when the Nuggets face the Los Angeles Clippers because Marcus Morris might exact revenge for his twin brother.

Other users, however, also reminded that Jokic has brothers as well. Two of them, in fact. They're also pretty huge.

One also noticed how Heat guard Tyler Herro tried to be a tough guy but quickly retracted his hasty move.

Despite Jokic's ejection, the Nuggets still hacked out a 113-96 victory to improve to 6-4. Before hitting the showers early, the reigning MVP tallied another triple-double with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists on top of two steals and two blocks.

Morris, on the other hand, chipped in 10 points and three rebounds off the bench for the Heat, who dropped to 7-3.

It remains unclear if Nikola Jokic and Markieff Morris will be suspended.
