These two teams have had somewhat similar seasons so far, though for very different reasons. The Kings are struggling and have lost four games in a row despite recently trading for Domantas Sabonis. The Thunder have also been one of the worst teams in the league, but they're coming off an overtime victory.

Sacramento Kings: -5 (-110)

Oklahoma City Thunder: +5 (-110)

Over: 227.5 (-110)

Under: 227.5 (-110)

Why The Kings Could Cover The Spread

The Kings have had an underwhelming season, to say the least. They entered 2021-22 hoping to end the longest postseason drought in the NBA, but instead they sit at 22-40 and appear likely to miss out yet again. Sacramento has lost four straight games going back to before the All-Star break, with back-to-back losses to the Denver Nuggets coming out of the break. The Kings got crushed by 18 points in the first of the two matchups before losing the second one by five points.

While Sacramento is in the midst of a losing streak, this team should be able to take care of business against Oklahoma City. Newcomer Domantas Sabonis and star point guard De'Aaron Fox are meshing quite well together, giving this team a terrific offensive duo that should be able to overwhelm the tanking Thunder.

Furthermore, this Kings team is healthy, at least for the most part. Currently, Sacramento has only two players listed on its injury report. Richaun Holmes is listed as questionable for the game, while Terence Davis remains out. If Holmes is able to play in this game, that would be just another reason to like the Kings to win.

Regardless of Holmes' status, this team is mostly healthy, and that should be enough against an OKC team that is decidedly not healthy. Six Thunder players have been ruled out for this game, including Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, Mike Muscala, Ty Jerome, Kenrich Williams and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. That will be a lot to overcome.

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread

Many people expected this Thunder squad to be the worst team in the NBA this season as they tanked for a top pick. While they don't have the absolute worst record, they're close with a 19-41 record, though that isn't much worse than the Kings' own poor record.

The Thunder are coming off a rare victory over the Indiana Pacers, though. OKC took down Indiana in overtime, winning by four. The Thunder got a monster performance out of star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who contributed 36 points. Tre Mann supported him with 22 points, and four other players also scored in double digits. This team effort on the offensive end separated this game from so many others. OKC has the worst offensive rating in the NBA, but this game saw a terrific showing on the offensive end, led by SGA.

If the Thunder can get another big-time performance from SGA, they might be able to at least snag a cover against the Kings, or perhaps even an upset win. The young point guard is the key to everything for OKC.

Final Kings-Thunder Prediction & Pick

This is a tough pick. Betting on either of these teams this season has been a losing move. The Kings may have lost their last four games, but they are the better and healthier team. The Thunder are struggling and have little incentive to win. Pick the Kings to win and cover.
