The Milwaukee Bucks have just lost their second consecutive series-opener on Monday, following a disappointing 115-104 defeat at the hands of the Miami Heat. After another disheartening loss, it is only natural that the future of Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is placed on the spotlight, and according to at least one anonymous NBA executive, Miami might just be in the running if the reigning MVP decides to part ways with Milwaukee in the offseason.

Sam Amick of The Athletic reports that an unnamed official has identified the Heat as a potential destination for Giannis should he decide to call time on his Bucks tenure:

I asked the aforementioned front office executive which team Antetokounmpo might wind up with if Miami goes on to finish this job and create such havoc for the Bucks.

“The Heat,” the NBA executive said.

To be clear, Amick's report has a clear premise: that the Bucks are ousted in the second round by the Heat. That would be a terrible way to end the season for Milwaukee, and for Giannis, that might just prove to be the final straw.

Antetokounmpo will have one more year remaining on his current contract after this season, with the Bucks fully expected to offer their cornerstone superstar with a record mega-extension. Whether or not the newly-crowned Defensive Player of the Year winner will put pen to paper on a new deal remains to be seen, however, and anything less than a Finals appearance this season might just lead to Giannis questioning the likelihood of achieving ultimate success with the Bucks.

It is also unclear what type of package Miami can muster up for a potential blockbuster deal, but so long as they have Pat Riley sitting at the helm, anything is possible.
