Zion Williamson is almost too big. The Duke sensation's size and strength are indeed one of his best physical attributes. He routinely makes power-five college basketball players and NBA prospects look far smaller than their listed weight due to his broad shoulders, huge chest, thick arms, and solid base. Coming into the season, though, some NBA scouts wondered whether or not the body from which Williamson derives all that power could be a problem for him at the next level.

If he's 285 pounds at 18 years old, just how big will Williamson be when he's 25? That's a question that's still worth asking even after the Blue Devils superstar has established himself as one of the top draft prospects in recent memory. But according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, NBA executives are no longer concerned about Williamson's potential weight gain due to his dedication and passion for the game.

“There were some executives that were worried could his weight become an issue?” Kennedy said. “If it goes out of control could it lead to increased injury risk? Could that affect his athleticism? However, after seeing his love of the game, his passion, his work ethic, executives are no longer concerned about that. They feel like he'll be able to keep his weight in check.”

There's a chance Williamson ultimately ends up playing a lot of his minutes at center in the NBA, but even that likelihood coming to fruition doesn't mean he won't need to keep his weight in check. Among the many attributes that separate him from other hyper-athletic big men with all-court skills is his potential ability to guard multiple positions – a trait that won't materialize to the effect it would otherwise if he continues getting bigger.

Is Williamson's weight a problem? No, and his drive to improve will likely ensure it's not going forward. Still, Williamson's body is certainly something the team that drafts need to closely monitor nonetheless.
