On Easter Sunday, Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving resurrected his elite play in Boston. He scored a game-high 39 points on an efficient 12-for-20 shooting. That includes hitting six shots from downtown. However, it was all for naught as the Celtics defeated the Nets 115-114 on a buzzer beater from Jayson Tatum. Shockingly, it was the first home buzzer beater in Celtics playoff history.

It's been highly publicized that there has been no love lost between Irving and the Celtics fan base. During the game, Irving had a couple of interactions with the Boston crowd. After the game, Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant addressed the media concerning the level of play of Irving on Sunday. He also spoke about the affect that fans can have on Irving's performance on the court, as ClutchPoints writer Dave Early captured.

“I don't think he worries about it (the fans). He just plays his game… do what's required out there. Tonight, the shot making, controlling the game for us, it was incredible and that's what we are going to need going forward.”

Durant also detailed Kyrie Irving's ability to not be impact by fans.

Irving reportedly gave some of the Celtics fans the finger after some likely obscene comments. He hit a three-pointer with 45 seconds remaining, giving the Nets a three-point lead. However, Boston came back, hitting the game's final two shots including Tatum's buzzer beater to win Game 1.

More than likely, the fans in Boston will be just as rabid in Game 2. But if Durant's perceptions of Irving's ability to block that out is accurate, the Nets star guard should be able give his team a chance to even the series.
