Kendrick Perkins is done defending Ben Simmons. After the Australian guard failed to return in Game 4 of the Brooklyn Nets' playoff series against the Boston Celtics, Big Perk didn't hold back in criticizing the three-time All-Star.

In his latest appearance on ESPN's First Take, Perkins dropped a rather big insult for Simmons by calling him the “single girl who smokes cigarettes.” The former NBA big man certainly didn't like how the 25-year-old seemingly avoided playing for the Nets using his injury as an excuse.

“Ben Simmons is that pretty girl that's single, and everybody wondering why she's single, because she smokes cigarettes. That's who Ben Simmons is. The single girl who smokes cigarettes,” Perkins said.

Ben Simmons was expected to suit up for Game 4 in order to help the Nets prevent a sweep. However, a day before the crucial showdown, he reported to the team that he has soreness in his back. It was also revealed that Simmons is still dealing with mental health issues, hence his inability to play for Brooklyn.

While his condition is no joking matter, it led many people to mock him for his lack of competitive spirit. Clearly, Kendrick Perkins is one of those people disappointed with the development.

Perkins has been rather supportive of Simmons before, one time even blaming the Philadelphia 76ers for creating the drama with their superstar guard. Unfortunately, Simmons has done nothing to erase all the negative talks about him and instead fueled it even more.
