To say that Ben Simmons' season with the Brooklyn Nets was disappointing would be an understatement. As a matter of fact, there's not even much of a season to assess given how the former Rookie of the Year didn't even play a single minute for his new team.

Be that as it may, it sounds like Simmons is now starting to get back on track after undergoing surgery on his back. A source close to Simmons recently revealed that the 25-year-old is going to start working on a “summer plan” with the Nets as they all look forward to getting him back on the court for the start of the 2022-23 season:

“We will work together with the Nets on a summer plan,” the anonymous source told Brian Lewis of The New York Post. “Everyone is confident.”

By “everyone” I am assuming that this source is referring to both Ben Simmons' camp and the entire Nets organization. Perhaps we can even throw the players into the mix here. Everyone was frustrated by how Simmons was unable to help his team this past season but now that that's water under the bridge, it's time to look forward.

When healthy, Simmons is still one of the best defensive guards in the NBA and this is exactly what the Nets expect from him next year.
