On Thursday, Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash hinted at the possibility of new recruit Goran Dragic potentially making his debut in the very near future. It sounds like that time has come as the Nets get a major boost ahead of Saturday's highly-anticipated clash against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the defending champs Milwaukee Bucks.

According to the official injury report published by the NBA, Dragic has been tagged as probable for Saturday's tilt. The 35-year-old veteran has yet to make his debut for the Nets since signing with the team but it looks like Dragic could finally return to action on Saturday.

Dragic is not nursing any sort of injury right now. However, his conditioning has been the issue as he hasn't played in an NBA game since November. He's been working hard to get back into game shape since joining the Nets and it sounds like the team is happy with his progress.

It remains to be seen how significant a role Dragic will be given in Brooklyn's rotation. The Nets fought off interest from several other teams for the services of the former All-Star so it is clear that they have a specific role in mind for Dragic.

It is worth noting, however, that previous reports suggest that Kyrie Irving could start playing in home games again if the vaccine mandate is lifted in New York City. If and when this happens then Irving will become a full participant for the Nets, thereby eating significantly into Dragic's potential playing time in home games.

Brooklyn also added a couple of key pieces to their team at the trade deadline with none more notable than former Rookie of the Year winner Ben Simmons. Seth Curry was also part of the James Harden deal with the Sixers, and he too will demand significant minutes in the backcourt. The same can be said for Patty Mills, who has been quite a revelation for the Nets this season.

Once the Nets are fully healthy, it's very much possible that Dragic falls down the pecking order. In the interim, however, he will have his opportunities.
