It appears that not everyone is exactly happy for Kawhi Leonard and his new shoe deal with New Balance. Jared Dudley took to Twitter on Wednesday to throw a little shade at the situation:

Dudley may not think Kawhi's new deal with New Balance is the stylish move, but Leonard will get quite a nice paycheck for the reported multi-year deal.

According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, Leonard turned down a four-year deal with Jordan Brand worth up to $22 million. Since Leonard's deal with Jordan Brand expired back on Oct. 1, he has still been wearing shoes from the brand during games this season. It's likely that the deal with New Balance will be official soon.

Since New Balance is not known for any real involvement with basketball, Leonard may start a trend and in turn pull other players over to his side with the brand. Puma did a similar thing this season in signing rookie stars like Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley III after putting themselves in the basketball shoe realm. Puma has taken off pretty well after their recent endeavors.

Leonard has never been one to be flashy, but it's worth noting New Balance may have something nice cooking for the Raptors star. Things could take off for the company from there, and one can only hope Kawhi's kicks won't be as lame as Dudley and many others expect them to be.
