Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is making his return to the court after missing just shy of six weeks with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Durant hasn't played since Jan. 15 but will suit up against the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat on Thursday night.

Durant spoke to the media Thursday morning ahead of his comeback game, and the Nets star is ready to rock:

Brooklyn has been a disaster of late with Durant out. The Nets are 3-15 over their last 18 games, going from 29-16 on Jan. 21 to 32-31 now. This has them in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the seventh-seeded Toronto Raptors.

In addition to KD being out, Ben Simmons hasn't played yet after the trade deadline blockbuster and Kyrie Irving is still just a part-time player. Durant is riding in to save the day, but he doesn't really view himself as a “savior” as he returns:

Even if KD doesn't view himself as that “savior” the Nets need, he almost certainly will be one. When healthy, Durant is still one of the best players in the NBA and is a total game-changer. On the season, he's averaging 29.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 52.0% from the field and 37.2% from 3-point range.

It's unclear when Simmons is going to make his Nets debut as he deals with a back issue, and Irving's bid to be a full-time player while still unvaccinated just recently took a blow. Irving will not play on Thursday since the game is in Brooklyn. Perhaps there will be a point later this season when all three stars will be fully available, but time is running out on that front.

For now, Brooklyn is happy to have Kevin Durant back in the fold.
