The Brooklyn Nets got a major boost on Wednesday after it was revealed that Kyrie Irving will be available to play in all of their remaining games–including home tilts. With that, sportsbooks were also quick to adjust the team's title odds.

There were increasing doubts that anything would change in New York's vaccine mandates for private companies that would allow Irving to play at home. For those not in the know, the Nets guard was still unable to play at Barclays Center because of the vaccine requirements in certain organizations even though the city has already lifted some of its restrictions.

Fortunately, after a strong push from baseball teams like the New York Yankees and New York Mets, NYC Mayor Eric Adams reportedly decided to exempt athletes and performers from the rule.

With the boost that Irving brings, the Nets' title chances also increased. Per FanDuel odds, the Brooklyn franchise now have the best odds to win the East at +240. Meanwhile, they are behind the Phoenix Suns at +500 to win the title (via Billy Reinhardt of SB Nation).

The Nets are playing the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Wednesday. Prior to the announcement, Kyrie Irving was only eligible to play in two more games after that. Fortunately, he and Brooklyn don't have to think about that anymore and instead focus on climbing the Eastern Conference ladder.

Brooklyn still has not played Ben Simmons as well, and if he does end up returning in the playoffs, there's a good chance that their title odds increase even more.

For now, the Brooklyn faithful can only be thankful that one of their biggest problems this 2021-22 season has been resolved.
