The Brooklyn Nets spoiled what was supposed to be a glorious night for the Philadelphia 76ers and their fans. In Ben Simmons' return to the city, Kevin Durant and company wiped the floor with the Sixers, delivering them their first loss with James Harden.

Durant tallied 25 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists while shooting 10-17 from the field. Kyrie Irving contributed 22 points and five assists and Seth Curry, who was a part of the trade that sent Simmons to Brooklyn, scored 24 points on 10-14 shooting and added five steals to his stat line. Harden and Joel Embiid combined to shoot 10-34.

Although Simmons didn't play any part in the Nets win, the team rallied around him and came out with a statement victory. Durant had some choice words for Sixers fans sitting courtside.

Durant's take might not be completely accurate considering the Sixers got James Harden in exchange for Simmons, it's a funny diss. Simmons' betrayal of Sixers fans has made him a true enemy in Philadelphia. The fans taunted him constantly and even wore altered jerseys to make fun of him. In the end, they were the ones left feeling dejected.

The Nets stars came to Simmons's defense with their words and with their performance against his former team. Although Brooklyn is just 34-33 right now, they showed that they are a strong force. When they add Simmons to the lineup, they'll be even better,
