Despite the Brooklyn Nets' latest playoff failure, Kyrie Irving is still not giving up hope that he can make his partnership with Kevin Durant work.

Irving's future with the Nets remains in doubt. He has a player option for 2022-23 and is eligible for extension this summer, but it is unknown if Brooklyn will give him that new contract after his rather chaotic campaign in 2021-22.

However, Irving himself has said that he has no plans to go anywhere. In fact, in his latest appearance on the Boardroom’s “The ETCs” podcast, he shared some bold aspirations for him, Durant and the Nets.

“I’d like to put together four straight years of team dominance,” Irving said, per the New York Daily News. “Winning 60-plus games. Going deep in the playoffs and having fun building relationships that extend beyond the court.”

The Nets finished with a 44-34 record in 2021-22, but that was major impacted by Kyrie Irving's absence because of New York's previous vaccine mandate. Brooklyn was unable to build any kind of rhythm and consistency with players in and out of the lineup, and that affected them big time as they were swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round.

For what it's worth, Brooklyn undoubtedly possesses the talents to dominate with Irving and Kevin Durant leading the way. Nonetheless, the big question for them is whether they can really commit to winning and not get limited by on- and off-court issues.
