Brookyln Nets superstar Kyrie Irving is in hot water right now after the NBA fined him a whopping $25,000 for refusing to attend a number of media interviews. He has received a lot of flack from virtually everywhere, but this hasn't stopped rapper Travis Scott from showing some love to his embattled buddy.
Kyrie took to Instagram to share a photo of a care package he recently received from Scott containing a number of fresh and expensive-looking kicks:
The special note takes the cake though, with the “SICKO MODE” rapper revealing that Kyrie remains his “favorite player in the league.” Kyrie isn't exactly the most well-loved figure in the NBA today—his recent mind-blowing response to the hefty fine made the situation even worse for him—but for his part, Scott is doing his bit to show his unwavering support for his friend.
It is worth noting that Kyrie has seen his name dragged in a number of trade rumors of late. With Houston Rockets' want-away superstar James Harden identifying the Nets as one of his preferred destinations, whispers have emerged as to how a deal will only be able to come to fruition if Kyrie is part of the trade package.
It's been a rather tumultuous offseason for Kyrie Irving thus far, and it's safe to assume he can't wait to get back on the floor to let his game do the talking.
He and Kevin Durant will be expected to carry much of the load for the Nets in the upcoming NBA season with new coach Steve Nash calling the shots.
