Brooklyn Nets big man LaMarcus Aldridge is used to being a starter but is likely to come off the bench for the entire season.

Barring his rookie season in the league, LaMarcus Aldridge went 13 straight years as a starter. This is why it's no surprise that he is still adjusting to his new off-the-bench role with the Nets.

According to Aldridge, this season has been completely “different” for him and he is still “trying to figure out” how he could possibly be of great help for the Nets despite “not playing much.”

“It’s very difficult. You’ve been one type of player or a certain type of player your whole career. It’s definitely different coming off the bench and not playing much,” Aldridge said via The New York Post. “So it’s been difficult. … I’m still trying to figure it out and navigate it and find my spots. And I’m just trying to find my ways to try and help out.”

“It’s an ongoing battle. It’s not, you fix it and it’s done,” the seven-time NBA All-Star added. “You still have moments where it’s still tough to not be out there at times, and it’s still tough to not start at times,” Aldridge said. “But I came back to win, and I wanted to be here and try to win it all. So, if that’s my role, it is what it is.”

The Nets may have reduced Aldridge's minutes and scope of work, however, the quality of his output has not changed one bit. In fact, he is Brooklyn's third best scorer so far with 12.9 points per game, and the second most efficient shooter in the team, shooting 56.5% from the field.
