Kyrie Irving's home in the 2022-23 season has yet to be decided. While he is currently under contract with the Brooklyn Nets, the rumors surrounding him joining the Los Angeles Lakers persist.

Although seeing Irving team up with LeBron James again would be a sight to behold, Irving will most likely be remaining with Brooklyn. As spotted by Jonathan Sherman of Lakers Daily, Irving re-posted pictures of people wearing his Nets jersey on his Instagram story.

One post that Kyrie Irving put on his story is of a mother taking a picture of her son in Irving's Nets jersey. The other is of a young adult posing in front of a building with the geolocation tag of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Irving follows neither of the accounts that he re-posted those pictures from and neither post tagged him.

Irving sending a message with those posts remains just a theory. Considering that there is reportedly no traction for a Lakers' Kyrie Irving trade and that the Kevin Durant market is not as massive as Brooklyn thought it would be, it seems like the Nets' stars will stay put.

Irving's disastrous 2021-22 season with the Nets made it seem like he was undoubtedly not going to return. Him opting into his player option was simply a formality that would precede a trade, likely to the Lakers. No trade has happened, though, and it feels like finding one that works will be very tough.

Of course, it is entirely possible that Irving is merely sharing pictures of his supporters as a way to thank them. But this is NBA free agency, where no stone can go unturned amid a flurry of rumors and uncertainty. Irving, regardless of his intent with his IG story, will likely remain with the Nets this season.
