The Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant certainly had some fun at the expense of Garrett Temple’s lack of hops on Monday night.
In the first quarter of the Nets’ 135-125 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Temple had a wide-open lane without a defender in sight – which usually leads to a flashy dunk for most NBA players.
But a dunk, after all, is still worth two points. Temple opted to go for a mild right-handed finish that barely passed off as a jam to his teammates on the bench.
Injured superstar Kevin Durant was one of those who led the teasing, as he flashed a disgusted look on his face while signalling thumbs down to his vertically-challenged teammate.
Kyrie Irving also got into the act and gestured how Temple’s feet barely got off the ground.
Despite his lack of flair, Temple is still one of the key role players of Brooklyn’s bench this season, averaging 7.1 points on 37.5 shooting from three, to go along with 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals in just 20 minutes per game.
