Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant has gotten off to a hot start in his first official NBA game since June 2019.

In the first five minutes of Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors, Durant's scored 10 points on 66.7 percent shooting for the Nets, which is tied for the most he's scored in the first five minutes of a game in his career.

Here's a video of his first basket:

Nevertheless, it's safe to say to assume that Kevin Durant has returned to his normal self. Even after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in June 2019, that hasn't slowed him down one bit.

Also, it wasn't just Durant that started off the game on fire–it was the entire Nets team. Brooklyn as a team scored 40 points in just the first quarter, which is the most they've scored in a quarter in franchise history. They also shot 58.3 percent from the field (14-24) and 58.3 percent from 3-point range (7-12), all while holding the Warriors to 33.3 percent (9-27) field goal shooting and 20 percent (2-10) from deep.

If the Nets can play like this every game of the season, the league will surely be in trouble. After all, scoring 40 in the opening quarter with KD and Kyrie Irving combining for more than half of the points shows the offensive potential of the squad.
