Former LSU Tigers linebacker and 2019 NFL Draft prospect Devin White has officially found his NFL home after months of working out, enduring media coverage, and moving up and down numerous draft boards. Coming off the board to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday evening, White was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

One of several former LSU standouts slated to come off the board in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, White has long been considered to be one of the top defenders in this year's draft class.

“Running back convert out of high school who continues to show rapid development as a high-impact linebacker in a physical conference,” reads White's 2019 NFL Draft profile on NFL.com. “White is still learning to take on blocks and play with better control/efficiency, but he's a willing pupil and coaching should improve both areas. White's work ethic, competitiveness, and rare play speed are elements that can't be taught and should push him into an early starter's role and a successful NFL career.”
According to his NFL.com profile, White is a comparable player to current Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack. While Jack originally got off to a bit of a slow start upon eventually reaching the NFL level by way of UCLA, the Jaguars defender has since turned things around in a big way while White certainly has the capability of doing the same as a member of the Buccaneers.
However, White is still expected to hit the ground running upon making his NFL debut in 2019.
