Baylor University wide receiver Jalen Hurd has found himself excused from the combine drills due to the fact that he's having a minor knee scope.

Despite the fact that he has limited use of his knee, Jalen Hurd is still one of the most intriguing prospects in college football, and promises to be a good hire for whichever NFL team might be interested in taking him on.

According to USA Today, Hurd already has had a successful year, where he caught 69 passes for 946 yards last season. Most of his success came after Baylor changed him from running back to wide receiver. He currently ranks sixth on Tennessee’s all-time rushing list with 2,638 yards.

“He’s one of the more intriguing guys in the whole draft,” NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said during a conference call Monday. “He goes to Baylor, plays some receiver, and he had some drops, but you can still see, he’s very sudden. Especially getting in and out of his break, he’s very, very explosive.”

Jeremiah went on to say that all you need to do is “get the ball in [Jalen Hurd]'s hands,” and he'll make magic happen:

“Just get the ball in his hands,” Daniel said. “Because with the ball in his hands, he’s outstanding. He’s great after the catch, and then you see those running back skills kind of take over.”

Because he's so versatile — see examples at changing positions on the field — he will likely be someone that's very valuable to the NFL teams that would be interested in drafting him.
