Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back  Josh Jacobs continues to up his stock ahead of the NFL draft. According to a Tuesday report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Jacobs has improved his 40-yard dash time while scouts are certainly taking notice.

According to Rapoport, Jacobs was previously in the 4.63 to 4.66 range at Alabama's initial Pro Day while the up-and-coming rusher has since upped the ante to between 4.52 and 4.56 while at the school's second Pro Day.

However, it is also worth noting that Jacobs did not run at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine due to a lingering groin injury.

“Prototypical combination of size and skill-set as an every-down runner with the ability to slash or impose his will on any given snap,” reads his NFL.com 2019 NFL draft profile. “Jacobs runs with good bend, vision and burst, and he proved to be an effective pass-catcher out of the backfield or from the slot. He will probe and burst, but he could become more elusive with better tempo as a runner. Jacobs is a decisive runner with outstanding one-cut talent to become a bellcow lead back.”

It is worth mentioning that the only running back to run a 4.60 or slower at the NFL Scouting Combine before being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft was another former Alabama running back in current Baltimore Ravens and longtime New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram. Many have Jacobs coming off the board in one of the first round of the April 25-27 draft.
