The long-awaited 2021 NFL Draft has finally arrived. After the virtual event in 2020, NFL fans have packed Cleveland with excitement and eagerness. After the San Francisco 49ers traded up to number three overall, the rumors began to fly on which quarterback they would take.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said that most NFL GMs are under the belief that the 49ers will tab Trey Lance as their next starter. However, it's still extremely unclear.

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, and Lance from North Dakota State have been the three rumored to be the choices for San Francisco.

Trevor Lawrence is destined to be the top pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets have zeroed in on BYU star Zach Wilson. However, the situation with the 49ers has always been extremely confusing, with reports of Jones being the guy, then Fields, and now Lance.

It's been a wild couple of months- as it usually is- with trade rumors and free agency striking at full force. However, the 49ers appear all set to take one of the quarterbacks and could see Jimmy Garoppolo on his way out of San Francisco.

Although the 49ers have Jimmy Garoppolo, reports came out that a potential New England reunion is possible and he might be traded. Then a report came out of Aaron Rodgers and his frustrations with the Green Bay Packers organization, potentially prompting a deal for Rodgers.

Needless to say, the 49ers are remaining coy with which quarterback they select at no. 3 overall, and for now it seems like Lance will be the next guy under the helm for the offense of Kyle Shanahan and the Bay Area squad.
