Former Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin has had a huge spike up the NFL Draft board over the last few weeks after a strong showing at NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month. His story as a player with one hand being able to perform at a high level of captivated the country for his potential NFL prospects.

He has backed up that promising display at the combine with another equally impressive performance at Central Florida's Pro Day on Thursday that has all helped him earn an invite to the NFL Draft next month in Arlington, Texas. According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Griffin has voiced his excitement for the opportunity with the huge amount of support behind him.

“I was a guy who was under the radar who they didn't believe in at first but I feel like they're starting to believe now,” Griffin said after his pro day Thursday. “I have the entire nation behind me now.”

Griffin is riding a huge wave of momentum heading into the draft as there was every team but the San Francisco 49ers in attendance to the Pro Day on Thursday. He has shown the impressive ability to operate efficiently despite having just one had with his tackling and catching ability, which added to his speed with a 4.38 40-yard dash and 20 reps in the bench press.

He also further displayed his athleticism by posting a 37.5-inch vertical jump, which would have put him sixth overall at the combine among linebackers. Prior this recent buzz, Griffin had been considered a latter round draft selection, but his strong showings at both the combine and Pro Day have pushed him to up to be currently projected in middle rounds.

The fact that he has earned an invite shows how much far he has moved toward reaching his goal of being selected in the draft next month.
