NFL star Cam Newton is still available in free agency and he feels a bit out of place for the first time in his career. While speaking to NBA star Chris Paul on Instagram Live, Newton admitted to feeling like a fish out of water.

“It’s so much possibility for me right now, but the fact that this corona situation has hit, I’m not a person to blame or do any of that things, man, it’s business,” Newton told Paul, via video from Sheena Paul of 1340AM Fox Sports. “But at the same time, I think I have been affected in a lot of ways, and it’s just [unfortunate], but yeah, at the end of the day, man, I’m going to let the ball play how it play, man, and go from there.”

Early in free agency, the Carolina Panthers decided to sign Teddy Bridgewater to be their next starting quarterback. As a result, with a new regime in place under Matt Rhule, Newton was released after spending nine seasons with the franchise.

With most teams set at quarterback, there aren't many possible suitors for the former NFL MVP. Seeing that the coronavirus is preventing team doctors from being able to examine Newton, it's going to be even tougher for him to find a new home.

Nevertheless, Newton is keeping a positive mindset as he continues to work back from the injuries that hindered him over the past two seasons. Regardless of who signs Newton, it appears they are going to get an extremely motivated version of the three-time Pro Bowler.
