Tom Brady is close to hitting the open free agency market and there is a growing belief that he could end up leaving the New England Patriots. Plenty of teams have been rumored to have interest in signing Brady, but a couple of those teams may already have been ruled out. Those two teams are the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants.

According to a report from Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Colts and Giants are not expected to pursue Brady this offseason.

The Giants and Colts aren’t among those suitors. You can cross them off the list. I was told pretty emphatically that neither will be in the mix if Brady does make it to free agency.

Both of those teams were viewed as legitimate threats to sign Tom Brady. Indianapolis would have been one of the most interesting landing spots, as they have been the Patriots' arch-rivals for years. New York was considered a dark horse team that many thought could make an interesting run, even with young quarterback Daniel Jones on the roster.

Assuming this report is true and the Colts and Giants are out, that leaves the Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and potentially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as contenders to sign Brady. Of course, the Patriots are still viewed as a front-runner to re-sign Brady and continue his legacy with the franchise.

It has been a long time since a free agent with the history of Brady has hit the open market. Perhaps Brett Favre was the last quarterback to switch teams with this kind of background.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the market for Tom Brady is when free agency opens on March 18th. Expect to hear plenty more Brady rumors over the next few weeks.
