Joe Flacco wants to resume his NFL career, but according to Mike Klis of 9News his career is on hold until he can take a physical, which will have to wait until after the NFL draft. Klis points out that many medical offices are reopening May 1st, which is probably when Flacco will receive his physical.

Flacco's 2019 season was cut short with a herniated disk in his back. There have been some questions if he will be able to play in the NFL again, so this physical is going to be make or break for his career.

Flacco is on record stating his willingness to be a backup next season. One team piquing his interest is the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I grew up with it … all my friends, live & die with the Eagles,” Joe Flacco said. “There definitely be a lot of very cool things about that. You never know what the future holds.”

Having a guy behind Carson Wentz who can win big games in the NFL playoffs would make a whole lot of sense. Whether the Eagles show interest or not, Flacco can't be too picky where he signs if he wants to continue to play. Other teams that would make sense might be teams that draft a quarterback, or he could be a mentor for a young quarterback.

Maybe sitting behind Daniel Jones with the New York Giants would help his development in the NFL. Before the speculation continues, though, he needs to be healthy and pass a physical.
