The Washington Commanders have undergone some major changes recently but there are still some ongoing issues involving the ownership. Rodger Goodell decided it was best that a third party gets involved with the investigation on Dan Snyder. Now, the NFL has finally made its decision.

According to Judy Battista, the NFL, “has hired former U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White.” She has a ton of experience investigating similar cases and should be the right person for the job. White should be able to find information on Dan Snyder's tenure as the owner of the Commanders.

For anyone not familiar with Mary Jo White, she has a history of investigating workplace misconduct within the NFL, per Judy Battista. After finding information on former Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, her investigation led to the team being put up for sale.

Rodger Goodell is leaning on someone reliable. It's a great sign for the NFL, as it seems the commissioner is taking it very seriously. Snyder has been under scrutiny for years and his clock may be ticking as the Commanders owner. Although, only time will tell, as Mary Jo White must conduct her investigation first.

We'll see how it all plays out. There is a ton of smoke billowing out of Washington, so much so it's hard to believe there isn't a fire. At the end of the day, we won't have the answers until the NFL's third-party investigation is complete. For now, all we can do is wait for White to conclude her research.

Buckle up for an interesting NFL offseason, as Washington could be going through more major changes.
