The NFL and NFLPA have been trying to work on the next CBA this off-season but a recent memo sent out by the NFLPA is preparing for the worst, a work stoppage. The work stoppage worksheet which was tweeted about by Darren Heitner tells the players to adjust, budget, and cut to prepare if a work stoppage was to occur.

One of the big things pointed out in this spreadsheet is that players need to start saving money, just in case there is a work stoppage and there are no paychecks coming next year. Under budget, it tells players to set aside half of each paycheck and not to start any new business ventures at this time.

Under cut it tells players to postpone any major purchases, work with a financial advisor, and find ways to reward themselves without spending money.

The current CBA runs through 2020 but both sides have made it clear they would like to get a deal in place before the season starts so there is no risk for a work stoppage.

It's unclear if this spreadsheet was sent out because talks aren't going well, or if the NFLPA is just trying to prepare players in case talks go South, but this has to be concerning to the players.

There is no doubt that both sides are going to want to avoid a lockout but there are things that both the NFL and NFLPA want to be included that could be sticking points and could cause there to be some football games missed.
