Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens has finally been inducted into the Hall of Fame and it took several years after eligibility for him to finally be voted in. Owens has voiced his opinions in the past and most notably in regards to the induction, he was not pleased that he was not voted on the first ballot.

According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Owens is still in disagreement with the amount of time that passed prior to his induction.

“It’s cool. I think it’s still two years too late, but I’ll take it. It was something that was long overdue, but now I feel recognized for my accomplishments on the football field.”

Owens had a great career, but his personality was unlike any other. The former 49ers great thinks because of his personality and attitude, his induction was postponed.

“Them trying to question my character, from the first nomination, these are the things that started to circulate. I’m like, ‘What are you guys talking about? I’m not that kind of person.'”

The fact of the matter is Owens thinks based on his fantastic NFL career he should have been a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee. Everyone knows Owens' celebrations and flamboyant nature may have caused him to have to wait a bit longer to hear his name called. Owens is one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the game and his stats confirm that, however, his attitude is something many remember more so than his numbers.
