In this preseason finale game, its a matchup of what could end up being the NFL's best and worst teams in 2021. It’s time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Buccaneers-Texans prediction and pick.

No Tom Brady here, no Super Bowl stars in this game. Instead, we get to watch Tampa's backups face off against a Houston team that might arguably still be worse – no, seriously. The Texans will be one of the worst teams of the 21st century this season. Houston, we most certainly have a problem.

Here’s how the bookmakers have set the lines for Saturday’s matchup.

NFL Odds: Buccaneers-Texans Odds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-180)

Houston Texans (+160)

Over 37 1/2 points (-105)

Under 37 1/2 points (-115)

Why The Buccaneers Could Win

This is a chance for rookie Kyle Trask to put on one last show before ultimately not likely making the active roster (at least initially). The former Florida star threw for 131 yards last week, despite two interceptions as well. Given that RGIII and Blaine Gabbert are the other quarterbacks on this roster, one of those two veterans probably has the edge in being Tom Brady's backup in 2021. But if Trask gets more playing time in this final preseason game, expect him to play better as he is just a rookie out to prove himself in the league. Plus, the Bucs are trying to avoid an 0-3 preseason, which while meaningless, will have some people joking that this team lost its Super Bowl touch. The Bucs backups will silence any doubters and put a win on the board heading into the real games.

Why The Texans Could Win

The Texans could win because that's how the preseason works. Football's worst team will go 3-0 and football's best team will go 0-3. And next week, no one will remember or care about any of that. But Houston is also still evaluating whether Davis Mills will be their starter at quarterback this year, or if Jeff Driskel or Tyrod Taylor seems like a better fit instead of the rookie Mills. So there's somewhat of a quarterback battle here too that is intriguing and could add extra points for the Texans here. Mills is looking to earn the job and will look to expand off last week's 115 yard game.

Final Buccaneers-Texans Prediction & Pick

Just because this is the way the preseason works (and yes, the Texans somewhat intriguing quarterback battle too), the Texans win this game outright. A team like the Bucs doesn't care about this game. To the media, they may say that every game counts. But trust me, the Bucs are already looking ahead to Dallas on Thursday Night Football in Week 1.

Congrats, Houston. These may be the only three wins your team gets all season.
