It's absolute chaos at the moment as Vladimir Putin and Russia decided to attack Ukraine on Thursday, sparking worldwide concern. While many people are trying to flee the country, NHL legend Dominik Hasek wants to see the league take a stand against Russian players and ban them. Hasek also made a point of attacking Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, who pleaded in a recent interview for peace between the two countries.

“What!? Not only an alibist, a chicken sh-t, but also a liar! Every adult in Europe knows well, that Putin is a mad killer and that Russia is waging an offensive war against the free country and its people,” the former NHL star said in a tweet reacting to Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin expressing hope for an end to the conflict.

Yikes. Obviously, it would be very difficult for the NHL to do so, given how many players from Russia currently play in the league. But Hasek clearly wasn't buying Ovechkin's message. Ovi said he has lots of friends in Ukraine and Russia and expressed his concerns about the ongoing situation.

Hasek believes the NHL must punish these Russian players. But, even the people of the country have attacked Putin for his actions. No one supports what he's done, with many even protesting in the streets of Moscow. It's a messy situation, to say the least.
