Why The Blues Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Blues have been scorching hot lately, going 5-0-1 in their last six and looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Within that stretch, they've managed to overtake the Wild for the second-place spot in the Central Division, now with 68 total points. The offense for the Blues seems to be hitting on all cylinders right now but their defense is the soft spot of the team, featuring some less than dominant depth pieces.

However, their goaltending is a bright light for this team as they finally found a starter in Ville Husso. He's been playing fantastic lately, but more than likely won't get the start tonight as he just played on Friday. So with that, Jordan Binnington, former starter but now back up after his horrific play earlier in the season, will most likely be getting the call. On the year, Binnington is allowing 3.25 goals against per game with a .900 save percentage. He'll look to get back to his Stanley Cup winning glory days tonight as they take on an unpredictable Blackhawks team.

Why The Blackhawks Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Blackhawks found a win on Friday after defeating the New Jersey Devils 8-5. They are now in the midst of a 4-8-3 run as of late, being carried by their star players, Patrick Kane and Alex Debrincat. There have been a lot of rumors going around the Hawks locker room recently about possible trades that could occur before the trade deadline in a few weeks. The Hawks are looking to be big sellers this season as one of the names on the trade block is star goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who will look to get a start between the home pipes tonight. He just can't get the offensive help in front of him as he's 16-18-4 on the year while averaging 2.80 goals against per game with a .912 save percentage. Nonetheless, Fleury will look to shut the door on a red hot Blues team who is hungry for more points.

Final Blues-Blackhawks Prediction & Pick

Let's not overthink this pick and just take a Blues team who is on a roll lately. However, I'm going to tweak it a little bit as I don't love the -176 odds. Instead, I'm looking at the Blues Moneyline 3-Way bet, which means that they just have to win in regulation. Those odds are much nicer at -110. This game absolutely has the chance to go to overtime, but I think there's enough value here to take it anyway.
