Why The Flyers Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Philadelphia Flyers have zero intention of making the playoffs this year as they just traded away their beloved captain Claude Giroux, after playing exactly 1,000 games with the Flyers. The Flyers have not been good on defense this year as they are allowing the ninth-most goals in the league (3.43 goals per game). It'll be a challenge, to say the least, for the Flyers are their starting goaltender Carter Hart is looking to get another start tonight. He's representing a save percentage of .910 and allowing in 2.97 goals per game. He'll look to shut down a top-five Blues offense tonight to keep the Flyers from finishing last in their division.

Why The Blues Can Cover The Spread/Win

The central division is packed, while a race for second place is still in full effect. The St. Louis Blues have control of it for now, but the Wild and Predators join the Blues in the race as each team is within one point of one another. Tonight is the perfect opportunity for the Blues to get out of their recent slump and get those extra points that they now desperately need. The starting goaltender for the Blues tonight is still up in the air, but we can assume it'll be Ville Husso, who has all but officially taken over the starting duties as the number one netminder. He's representing a .925 save percentage while allowing just 2.33 goals against per game. He'll look to give his team an extra two points tonight against a weak Flyers team.

Final Flyers-Blues Prediction & Pick

This game is another one of those “don't overthink it” kinds of games. The Blues have been in a minor slump lately, but the Flyers have been in a slump all season long. The Blues are actually playing for positioning in the playoffs while the Flyers are just playing for pride at this point. I think the Blues will come out of the gates looking for something to prove, and that's exactly what they're going to do. I don't love the odds for this game, but it's better than nothing I guess, give me the Blues puck line before the odds shoot up for it.

Final Flyers-Blues Prediction and Pick: Blues -1.5 (-108)
