Why The Rangers Can Cover The Spread/Win

The New York Rangers are slowly creeping up on the Hurricanes for first place in the Metropolitan Division, only five points back now after last night's win. The Rangers are currently on a three-game win streak, finding new life since the trade deadline. Star netminder Igor Shesterkin started between the pipes last night, so it's safe to assume that Alexandar Georgiev will be getting the starting nod tonight. He's won his last three starts against the Ducks, Hurricanes, and Sabres, and has stepped up his play tremendously. So far on the season, Georgiev has a .894 save percentage while allowing 3.08 goals against per game. He'll look to get another win here tonight against a rebuilding Red Wings team.

Why The Red Wings Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Detroit Red Wings come into this game on a three-game losing streak, including the 11-2 loss to the Penguins on Sunday. They'll be seeking some sort of redemption tonight as they are just looking to ruin other teams' playoff plans at this point. Unfortunately for the Wings, they give up the highest goals-against average in the league, allowing 3.8 goals against per game. Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic is expected to get the starting nod tonight for the Wings as he is repping a .901 save percentage and allowing 3.26 goals against. He'll be tested tonight against a hot Rangers team.

Final Rangers-Red Wings Prediction & Pick

The Rangers are really starting to make ground on the rest of the Metropolitan Division, really chasing down that first place position. This is a pretty easy game to pick if I'm being honest. I have little to no faith in the Red Wings anymore after giving up 11 goals on Sunday, and the Rangers are just a really good team in general. The issue here is that I don't love the odds for this game, so I'm going to change it a little bit. The old reliable 3Way Moneyline bet is going to be my play tonight, in favor of the Rangers. This just forces them to win in regulation, but I think they're more than capable of doing so unless Georgiev opens the flood gates for goals, which he tends to have a habit of doing sometimes. Nevertheless, give me the 3Way ML bet.
