Game four is still in Boston as the Bruins defend home ice once again from the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes won the first two games in Carolina but surrendered a loss to the Bruins in game three. Can the Bruins even up the series with a win in this matinee matchup? Why The Hurricanes Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Carolina Hurricanes are an outstanding defensive team, allowing the fewest goals during the regular season. However, goaltending was the big issue in game three as Pyoter Kochetkov was forced to start between the pipes. Hopefully, Antti Raanta will return to the crease for game four, otherwise, I'd expect the Bruins to take full advantage once again. The Canes have been a pretty solid team on offense this season as well and showed it off in the first two games while being somewhat shut down in game three. The Canes need to fix up their penalty kill as they look to take back momentum heading back home for game five.

Why The Bruins Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Boston Bruins refuse to tuck tail against the Hurricanes in this series as they got on the board with a win in game three. Now only down by one game, the Bruins want to keep that momentum rolling and get another huge win on home ice. The B's are leading in just about every statistical category for this series except for the final scores. We can assume that goaltender Jeremy Swayman will remain between the pipes after his performance in game three, but will be without defenseman Hampus Lindholm, at least for now.

Final Hurricanes-Bruins Prediction & Pick

The Bruins are trailing in the series but are decently sized favorites at home, and to be honest, I'd have to agree. They really came out of the gates strong in game three and want to keep that buzz flowing over into this game. Of course, anything can happen, but I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the Bruins in this one. The only problem for me to hurdle would be if Raanta played for the Canes, but even then I think the Bruins can still steal another win. In fact, dare I say I think the Bruins can win this series? If they lose game four, forget it, but if it pans out how I think it will, I'd get excited about the Bruins upsetting the Hurricanes for the first series.
