Last week, Niantic announced its new partnership with Nintendo to develop several mobile games. The studio behind Pokemon Go already unveiled its plans for a Pikmin-themed game but now the project finally sprouted. Lucky Pikmin fans living in Singapore get to take part in early tests for the untitled Pikmin AR game. Players around the world can pre-register for the game but only Singapore-based players get to try it out first.

PIKMIN GO!

The finer details of the upcoming game remain unknown due to the presence of an apparent confidentiality notice in the demo. Several reports indicate that players help plants grow by walking with their phones in real life. Fortunately, Niantic knows its way around AR games so there shouldn't be any problems.

Niantic failed to announce when the game will come to other countries but many players hopefully wait for their turn. However, the company's previous games, Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite launched early in Australia and New Zealand before the official releases. Hopefully, players from some other lucky country will get their hands on the new Pikmin game. The game remains untitled but it already has a number of players awaiting its release.

Niantic took the world by storm with the release of Pokemon Go. Now the AR game developers look to expand their influence with a whole slew of Nintendo-based games. Niantic's new partnership with Nintendo promises to deliver more games based on the game giant's beloved franchises.

For now, players have the Pikmin game to enjoy but only if you live in Singapore.  Unfortunately, Niantic did not announce any official release dates for the game or if it will launch in any other country. Get ahead of the rest of the players by filling up the game's pre-registration form on Niantic's official website.
