The much-anticipated “Not For Broadcast: VR,” a chaotic TV editing simulator from NotGames and tinyBuild, is set to bring its unique blend of mayhem and immersion to PlayStation VR2 after its successful run on PC, selling over 400,000 units.

Not for Broadcast VR

Not for Broadcast VR will hit PlayStation VR2 on December 14, 2023  for $24.99. It will support English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese languages.

In Not for Broadcast, players will step into the role of a TV editor for Channel One’s National Nightly News, this time in VR. Prepare to juggle the craziness of live television, crafting content that’s as bizarre as it is captivating. The goal? Keep those ratings soaring while ensuring the content stays PG and the authoritarian watchdogs at bay.

The game plunges you into Channel One’s editing suite, at the center of station life, dealing with everything from crew chatter to electrical surges during storms. It’s a chance to let your creativity loose and craft the perfect show in a world where anything can happen.

“We promise it’s so immersive you’ll feel like you’re really being electrocuted by your poorly maintained equipment!

Egotistical celebrities, dishonest politicians, and strange sponsors clash on the airwaves. You’re in the chair to ensure that the show goes on uninterrupted. Or at least, that’s what you’re getting paid for. There’s now nothing stopping you from spending all day hitting yourself on the head with VHS tapes, we suppose.”

Not For Broadcast – The Guinness World Record Holding Game

The initial full release of Not for Broadcast was on January 25, 2022, two years after it became available in early access. The full release included three episodes and was available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Meta Quest 2.

It received positive reviews for the innovative concept and gameplay, earning nominations from BAFTA and IGF. On top of these though, Not for Broadcast achieved an odd record for a game – a Guinness World Record under “Most Full Motion footage in a videogame” with 42 hours, 57 minutes, and 52 seconds.

The game features a total of three paid DLCs, each one its own unique episodes while introducing new game mechanics. The most recent one was released mid-November 2023, with the third and last DLC slated for a 2024 release.
